Find Tyler County Traffic Court

A Tyler County traffic ticket starts with one question: which court issued it? The justice or municipal court named on the citation holds the record, and no single county search reaches every city and precinct. Once you find the right bench, the Tyler County traffic court file can show the citation, the plea, the setting, payments, a dismissal, the judgment, or later action. It stays separate from a state driver record. Search and response options vary by court, so confirm your appearance date, payment terms, and copy process with the named clerk before a deadline passes.

Traffic Case Records in Tyler County

Which court owns a traffic case depends on who wrote the ticket and where. A citation inside a city's limits can land in Woodville or Ivanhoe Municipal Court. Outside those routes, one of four Tyler County justice courts likely has it. The citation itself is the fastest way to name the right bench, and the official Justice Court page lists every precinct office along with traffic-payment links, deferred-disposition links, and forms.

These are fine-only Class C matters. They are not district felony or County Court cases. Each JP or municipal clerk keeps the traffic case record for that bench, and the file behind a ticket can include the plea, a hearing setting, motions, compliance papers, payment, dismissal, judgment, or a warrant-related event. A payment portal may help you match or pay a citation. Still, it is not a complete Tyler County traffic court record search on its own.

Tyler County City or JP Ticket

Pull the details off the ticket first. Note the court name, precinct, city, officer agency, citation number, and appearance date before you search. Woodville and Ivanhoe both maintain municipal court pages through their cities. Tyler County runs four JP precinct offices. Colmesneil and Chester post no current municipal-court pages. So a city name alone is not a reliable route to a court. The county source shows the four Tyler County justice offices and their traffic links.

Tyler County traffic court justice precinct offices

Several JP offices share a Woodville street address. The precinct named on the citation still controls.

Quick answer: Use the issuing court printed on the ticket, then confirm its current phone, address, and response method on an official page.

Tyler County Traffic Ticket Lookups

Every court opens a different lookup door. The county Justice page supplies precinct links. Woodville runs a city payment route. Ivanhoe posts phone, mail, and online payment information. If a portal fails you, call the court or go to its counter; the statewide re:SearchTX system may carry covered court data, but the issuing clerk remains the direct source for a Tyler County docket search.

  1. Read the citation and identify the municipal court or Tyler County JP precinct.
  2. Use that court's official citation or payment link, if one is offered and working.
  3. For Woodville, enter the citation as PD 00000, including the space, with the private matching fields requested by the official form.
  4. If the link fails or the ticket has not posted, call the named court or take the citation to its counter.
  5. Record the appearance date, plea or response status, setting, and any amount quoted by the court.

The two county-linked JP payment pages do not always load, and their live field labels and receipt behavior remain unconfirmed. Treat them as payment tools, not full case-file searches.

Woodville TrafficPayment Fields

The Woodville payment page asks for a citation in a precise format: PD 00000, space included. It also wants a date of birth and driver-license number to match the ticket. Those are private inputs for the city's official transaction page, not details to publish from a court record.

FieldTypeFormat note
Citation numberTextUse PD, one space, then five digits
Date of birthPrivate match fieldEnter only on the official payment page
Driver-license numberPrivate match fieldDo not reproduce from a live record

Woodville also allows appearances in person, by phone, by mail, and by email. Its FAQ warns that a phone call alone is not an appearance. It also says continuances are never granted by phone. The date printed on the ticket controls unless the court changes it. These rules belong to Woodville alone. An Ivanhoe or Tyler County JP case follows different instructions.

Traffic Court Dates in Tyler County

A ticket can carry an appearance date before any online case exists. Confirm it with the issuing court rather than waiting on a portal. Later settings in the docket may show a date, time, court, and status. A reset just moves the hearing. It does not dismiss the Tyler County traffic case or erase the duty to respond.

Citation numberThe issuing court's identifier, such as Woodville format PD 00000.
CourtThe named municipal court or Tyler County JP precinct.
Appearance dateThe response date printed on the ticket unless the court changes it.
Hearing settingA later trial, plea, or other setting assigned by the court.
StatusA procedural label that should be confirmed with the clerk.

Ivanhoe tells a cited person to contact the court on or before the appearance date, and its court runs by appointment during listed weekday hours. Woodville points readers to the citation's appearance or payment date too. When a deadline is close, use the phone or the counter even if an online link will not open.

Tyler County Appearance Rules Differ

Woodville and Ivanhoe both handle Class C and traffic matters, yet their procedures do not swap. Woodville lists in-person, phone, mail, and email appearance methods plus a detailed FAQ. Ivanhoe posts its own court contact, payment phone, mailing route, plea form, and appointment-based schedule. A Tyler County JP citation follows the precinct's instructions instead.

Ivanhoe lists 870 Charmaine Drive East, Woodville, TX 75979, phone 409-444-7048, and court@cityofivanhoe.texas.gov. Confirm those details on the Ivanhoe Municipal Court page before relying on them.

Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It

Paying a ticket is a legal choice, not just a transaction. Woodville explains its plea options and trial scheduling. Ivanhoe states that payment equals a nolo contendere plea, meaning no contest. If you dispute a Tyler County ticket, follow the named court's method for entering a not-guilty plea and getting a trial setting. Never use a payment button just to pull a case file.

Do not miss the response date: Woodville warns that failure to appear can lead to added court action and a possible license hold.

A call asking for information may not count as an appearance. When you file a plea, payment, or request, get confirmation from the clerk.

Tyler County Deferred Options

Deferred disposition and driver safety courses both exist in Tyler County. Each court sets its own rules. The Tyler County Justice page posts deferred-disposition material. Its forms page carries driver-safety-course and deferred-disposition requests. Woodville spells out safety-course, deferred-disposition, and some compliance-dismissal routes for its own tickets. Eligibility and deadlines vary. Seeing a form online proves nothing about your ticket.

So ask the issuing court first. If you want deferral or a course, never just pay. Payment can record a plea and disposition under that court's rules. Give the clerk your citation number. Then keep copies of everything: the request, the court's response, proof of completion, and the final order. Woodville's compliance process for expired registration or insurance applies only to Woodville citations.

One more caution. Tyler County JP forms carry a legal-advice warning. Court staff will explain filing steps and fees. They cannot pick a plea or a strategy for you.

Two Records: Court and Driver File

Tyler County traffic cases actually live in two separate files. The issuing court keeps the citation case on its Tyler County court docket. The Texas Department of Public Safety keeps your state driver record. Woodville notes that moving-violation convictions get reported to DPS. That reporting does not merge the two records. They stay two separate files.

A court portal may ask for a birth date or license number. It only wants those to match a citation. The match does not make it a DPS search. Keep either private value away from any live Tyler County record.

Tyler County Portal Gaps

The Tyler County Justice page posts traffic portals for Precinct 1 and another county route. Both have thrown gateway or protocol errors. When a link fails, work the fallback chain instead of waiting. Read the citation itself. Call the precinct number listed on the official Justice page, and go to the right counter if you must. A vendor page can stay broken long past your appearance date.

Phone numbers by precinct: Precinct 1 lists 409-283-3631. Precincts 2 and 3 list 409-283-6320. Precinct 4 lists 409-429-9500 plus a distinct mailing address. The official page places the justice offices at 203 W. Dogwood Street in Woodville. Room details there cover several precincts. Hours run Monday through Thursday, and the offices close Friday. Confirm everything with your named precinct before you drive over.

For statewide case and hearing data, re:SearchTX offers one more check. It still cannot answer for a Tyler County traffic clerk. It cannot stand in for a deadline or a certified copy either.

Traffic Record Copy Fees

What you pay a municipality is not a court-record copy fee. Ask the JP or city clerk directly. Ask what it charges to copy or certify its own Tyler County traffic file. The county fee page posts general County Clerk amounts below. The clerk may quote a different schedule.

Published itemAmountUse
County copy$1.00 per pageGeneral County Clerk schedule
County certification$5.00 plus $1.00 per pageConfirm applicability with custodian
County search fee$5.00General published fee
Woodville card processing3.5% plus taxesPayment transaction, effective January 1, 2022
Woodville payment-plan setup$15Administrative payment-plan charge

The county fee notice warns that fees may change. Woodville also bars personal checks and several app-based payment methods on its payment plans. Confirm the final sum and the accepted form before you send money.

Confirm Tyler County Ticket Status

Keep everything in one place. Save the citation, any receipt, your plea, each request, and every court notice. A portal that says paid or disposed is not formal proof. When you need proof, ask the clerk for the court record or a certified copy. A payment receipt confirms a transaction, nothing more. A blank search result can mean a posting delay. It can also mean the wrong court, thin vendor coverage, or restricted data.

Hearing dates move, too. Write down which clerk or court you spoke with and when you confirmed. For the wider picture of settings and resets, turn to the Tyler County court schedule. It walks through how docket settings work. On the ticket's active date, plea status, and copy requests, one source still rules. Ask the issuing municipal or justice clerk.
